Guangdong: Where innovation meets the future

Guangdong hosts its annual High-quality Development Conference on February 5, the first working day after the Chinese New Year holiday, in Guangzhou.

As China's economic powerhouse, Guangdong is forging ahead in its pursuit of building a modern industrial system. With a GDP of over RMB 14 trillion in 2024, maintaining its top position nationwide for 36 consecutive years, the province is now focusing on cultivating future industries to sustain its high-quality economic growth.

In 2024, the province allocated approximately 510 billion yuan for research and development, accounting for about 3.6% of its GDP. With nearly 77,000 high-tech enterprises and a regional innovation capacity ranked first in China for eight consecutive years, Guangdong is well-positioned to lead the way in technological advancement.
