"Guangdong has provided diverse communication platforms facilitating interaction among enterprises, sparking new business opportunities, and fostering collaboration," said Zhang Haibin, the Chairman of AGC Display (Shenzhen) Inc., in an exclusive interview with GDToday.
As AGC specializes in manufacturing various types of glass, particularly glass substrates for liquid crystal displays (LCD), Zhang highlighted the significance of Guangdong's push for high-quality manufacturing. He emphasized the importance of forming a complete industrial chain, citing AGC’s collaboration with TCL Huaxin in the production of LCD panels.
Reflecting on the past year of high-quality development in Guangdong, Zhang expressed profound appreciation for the improvements in the basic environment. Additionally, the supply of affordable housing for employees has been a substantial benefit, enhancing the overall quality of life for the workforce.
Regarding future plans aligned with Guangdong's goal to accelerate modern industrial system construction and promote the integration of technology and industry, Zhang indicated that AGC, as a comprehensive material producer, is actively exploring new materials for emerging industries such as electronics, biopharmaceuticals, and chemicals. The chairman revealed that the company remains flexible and open to expanding its business scope in Guangdong based on market demands.
