Located at the intersection of the east and west banks of the Pearl River Delta city cluster, the Dongguan Binhaiwan New Area connects with the free trade zones of Qianhai and Nansha. It is one of the few strategic areas along the east bank of the Pearl River that can be developed in a concentrated and continuous manner.

The area is composed of three major sections: Jiaoyiwan, Shajiao Peninsula and Weiyuan Island, with a total planned area of 84.1 square kilometers. Now it covers a land area of 51.8 square kilometers, and the area will reach 60.3 square kilometers after completion.

Enjoying unrivaled location, the Binhaiwan New Area, together with the central districts of Dongguan and the Songshan Lake, forms the “Golden Triangle” of Dongguan, advancing the development of the city.

According to the plan, the Binhaiwan New Area will establish a complex transportation system, including a terminal to link Hong Kong and Macao, two intercity tracks, four high-speed railways, six highways, and eight subways.

The area is build a high-level intelligent city by creating a spatial coastal zone that provides satisfactory ecological, living, and working environment.

As for the industrial layout, the area vigorously constructs a modern industrial system comprised of high-end electronic information industry, artificial intelligence industry, health industry, and modern service industry.

After being dredged, the Saiguyong River, a tributary of the Modiehe River, has significantly improved water quality and the surrounding environment, attracting flocks of herons.

In addition, the area has made great efforts to improve the ecological environment to create an ecological city that is ideal for living, working, and touring.
