Hong Kong's and Macao's professionals with the qualification certificates could enjoy the same payment and bonus as their mainland counterparts when carrying out engineering projects.

Last November, Nansha launched the architecture and transportation professional title qualification assessment criteria (trial) for Hong Kong's and Macao's professionals, according to Chen Guohong, Deputy Director of Nansha District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. 29 applications were received, 16 of which have passed the assessment, including senior, medium and assistant professional titles.

"We have adjusted the assessment criteria based on Hong Kong's and Macao's professional practice and made it feasible for the two regions' professionals to join the qualification system on the Chinese mainland,” said Chen.

Lo Kin Nang, an architect from Hong Kong, has acquired the senior engineer professional title in Nansha District. "It's helpful for us to better participate in local construction projects. I believe it's important for my career development on the Chinese mainland," said Lo.

Hung Yat Hei, a Nansha civil servant from Hong Kong, has acquired the assistant engineer professional title in the District. "It took about two months to complete the assessment. I'm grateful for the help from the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau's staff, which made the application process even smoother," said Hung.
