The launch ceremony for Phase 2 of “Macao Youth Startup Community Living Room” was recently held in the Lotus Community of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, drawing around 100 guests from Macao and Hengqin.
The “Macao Youth Startup Community Living Room” is a public welfare entrepreneurial service platform for Macao youth, Phase 1 of which was inaugurated and launched last July. Since its launch, the platform has received settlement applications from more than 80 startup projects initiated by Macao youths, and successfully incubated over 40 Macao youth-founded startups with an enterprise survival rate exceeding 90 percent. These businesses cover diverse sectors including digital technology, cross-border trade, cultural innovation and tourism, delivering services to over 2,500 young people from Macao and Hengqin.
Jointly operated by the Lotus Community Residents’ Committee and the Chinese Youth Advancement Association (Macao, China) Guangdong Office, the platform adopts an operation model of “government guidance, community co-construction and association management”. Upholding its service philosophy of “charging no fees, only realizing dreams”, it offers Macao young entrepreneurs free supporting facilities including office premises, water, electricity and internet access. The platform fills the gap of public-welfare startup incubation carriers dedicated to serving Macao youth in the Cooperation Zone.
