The new Huanggang Port is finally set to open. Following a comprehensive reconstruction and upgrade of the original port facilities, the main terminal building has been completed and various customs clearance systems are currently undergoing testing and commissioning. The port is expected to officially commence operations in July 2026.
Located in Futian District of Shenzhen, the new Huanggang Port is the world's largest land border crossing and the only 24-hour passenger inspection port between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The new port will feature 134 e-channels and 68 staffed counters. It is expected to handle a daily passenger flow of 200,000, with a peak capacity of 300,000. Clearance time for travelers will be significantly reduced from about thirty minutes to around five minutes, greatly improving efficiency.
The new Huanggang Port will connect key areas including the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, Guangming Science City and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, while linking the entire Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Sci-tech Corridor. It is set to become a modern national first-class port integrating an international entry-exit checkpoint, an integrated three-dimensional transport hub and a vibrant public urban space, serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and connecting it with the rest of the world.
