“In China, nearly 200 events will take place across about 20 cities. In South China, a wide variety of activities will be presented in multiple formats, including lectures, exhibitions, film screenings, debates, workshops, and concerts, running from now through mid-November. I hope these events will inspire participants from all sectors to find global solutions for a sustainable future.” said M. Laurent LEGODEC, Consul General of France in Guangzhou.

Launched by the Embassy of France in China in 2014, the Franco-Chinese Month of Environment has been promoting biodiversity protection, emphasizing the necessity for continuous cooperation between China and France. The event has been held for 12 editions, expanding its reach to over 30 cities across China.

This year’s the Franco-Chinese Month of Environment is set against major global environmental milestones: the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference held in June in Nice, the upcoming Paris Peace Forum, and the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Belém. In this context, China and France are strengthening cooperation, combining scientific expertise and joint initiatives to advance environmental protection.
