The third Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development will be held in Guangzhou from September 15 to 16.

This marks the first time the conference is being hosted on the Chinese mainland, following successful previous editions in Macao and Hong Kong. Moreover, this year's event will witness the largest-ever participation.

The announcement was made at a press conference held by the Information Office of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government on September 9.

Chen Xiaofeng, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangdong Committee, stated that the conference will be attended by over 1,200 participants.

These participants include relevant government officials and leaders from international business associations such as ApexBrasil, the US-China Business Council, and the Canada-China Business Council.

There will also be representatives from internationally renowned bay area organizations like the Bay Area Council. Representatives from industry-leading companies, including Visa from the US and Swire Group from the UK, will also attend.

The conference will unveil achievements related to the institutional construction of industrial and commercial cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

These include guidelines for ad hoc arbitration in the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and a report on GBA supply chain promotion in both Chinese and English versions.

These publications aim to provide Chinese and foreign enterprises with a comprehensive understanding of the latest industrial policies and industry trends in the GBA and facilitate international supply chain cooperation.

Additionally, the conference will host four parallel thematic seminars focusing on topics of interest to the international business community, such as cross-border financial cooperation in the GBA, the promotion of commercial legal cooperation, and the alignment of industries including artificial intelligence, biomedical, and big health sectors.

Chen Xiaofeng further noted that Guangdong has attracted over 260,000 Hong Kong- and Macao-invested enterprises. Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have jointly manufactured 70% of the world's consumer drones, 40% of smartphones, one-quarter of China's new energy vehicles, and one-fifth of its integrated circuits.
