The Huangsha Aquatic Products Center, formerly known as Huangsha Aquatic Product Market, officially opened on September 8 in Liwan District, Guangzhou. This relocation marks a significant upgrade from its original site, where it operated for 31 years as a landmark for fresh seafood in southern China.

Established in 1994 as a freight terminal, Huangsha evolved into South China's largest live aquatic market following Guangzhou's deregulation of the seafood industry. It became the country's first specialized market for imported live seafood, with annual transactions once exceeding 300,000 tons and a value of over 20 billion yuan.

The new center spans 110,000 square meters and functions as a smart fisheries complex. It features centralized oxygen, cooling, and seawater systems, along with digital traceability technology. Enhanced by cold chain logistics and low-altitude transport support, the facility aims to streamline global seafood trading.

Located at No. 188 Shaluo Longwan Street, Dongsha Subdistrict, Liwan District (广州市荔湾区东沙街沙洛龙湾街188号), the center is strategically positioned within the Bai'etan Business District and serves as a key hub connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is accessible within approximately 20 minutes from Guangzhou South Station, 30 minutes from Zhujiang New Town, and 45 minutes from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

The center offers about 1,000 parking spaces, equipped with charging points, unloading platforms, and 24-hour surveillance. Additional parking is available at nearby lots to the west and north.

How to get there?

Metro access is provided via Line 10 at Dongsha Station (Exit C), followed by a 300-meter walk to Gate 2. The line connects multiple districts and offers interchanges with other routes.

A dedicated shuttle bus runs between Dongsha (Health Harbor) Terminal and the center (Gate 2), operating from 9:00 to 12:00 and 16:00 to 20:00 at 20-minute intervals.

For drivers, navigation to "Huangsha Aquatic Products Center" (黄沙水产中心) is recommended, with two primary routes leading to Gates 1 and 2:

Route 1 (via Gate 1): Dongsha Avenue → Huisheng Road → Huancui East Road → Cuiyuan Road → Gate 1

Route 2 (via Gate 2): Dongsha Avenue → Huisheng Road → Huancui East Road → Dongsha Road → Gate 2

Real-time transit updates are available through Guangzhou Metro's official channel. To track the bus location in real time and avoid waiting or missing it, follow the "Bus Community" (公交社区) mini-program and search for the "Huangsha Aquatic Products Center Microcirculation Shuttle Line" (黄沙水产中心微循环接驳线).

The new center is expected to stimulate a billion-yuan industrial chain and create 100,000 jobs, reinforcing its role as a seafood hub in the Greater Bay Area. The original site will be integrated into cultural tourism projects, contributing to Guangzhou's waterfront commercial development.
