Hengqin delegation visits Shanghai for investment promotion

During the 7th China International Import Expo, representatives from the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin conducted an investment promotion tour in Shanghai from November 4 to 7.

The delegation presented Hengqin's business advantages to 15 well-known companies and provided on-site services to enterprises already established in Hengqin. During the visit, they met with several multinational companies to explore business development opportunities, particularly in high-performance materials and bulk trade. Additionally, visits were also paid to several notable companies and investment institutions across various sectors, including the hotel industry, cultural and entertainment industry, and cross-border e-commerce.

The delegation introduced several tax incentive policies to potential partners, such as the 15% preferential rates for personal and corporate income taxes and the corporate income tax exemption for income derived from foreign investment for companies in the three major industries. Companies are allowed to either deduct capital expenditures as a one-time pre-tax deduction in the current period or apply accelerated depreciation and amortization.

Furthermore, the delegation highlighted Hengqin's industrial support measures and the benefits of the new customs operation for multinational operations, with an electronic materials company expressing interest in establishing its Asia-Pacific headquarters for electronic materials in Hengqin.

The delegation also visited several enterprises already established in Hengqin, listening to their needs. Companies were encouraged to take advantage of the Portuguese-speaking trade representatives based in Macao to strengthen ties with Portuguese-speaking countries and leverage the integrated development of Macao and Hengqin.
