2024 World Fashion Conference to be held in Humen, Dongguan in November

The 2024 World Fashion Conference will be held from November 20 to 22 in Humen Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, according to the press conference in Beijing on October 12.

The conference is organized by the China National Textile and Apparel Council, with support from the China Clothing Association and the China Textile Information Center. 

Concurrently, the 27th China (Humen) International Clothing Trade Fair and the 2024 Greater Bay Area (Humen) Fashion Week will be held from November 21 to 24 in Humen.

According to reports, nearly 20 countries and regions, including France, Italy, the UK, South Korea, Japan, Egypt, Malaysia, and Cambodia, have already confirmed their participation of industry guests. The conference will feature a variety of activities, including an opening ceremony, discussions on global apparel collaboration, a fashion creativity tour in Humen, a salon connecting international design forces with Chinese fashion brands, three themed releases, and three sideline events.

The 2024 World Fashion Conference will highlight four key features: First, France will serve as the guest country, enhancing exchanges between the Chinese and French fashion industries and expanding cooperation between the two countries. Second, the guest list will be diverse, representing nearly 20 countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa. Third, the conference will strengthen the voice of fashion by bringing together renowned international designers to discuss future trends. Lastly, it aims to create a comprehensive platform for practical cooperation through meetings, exhibitions, and fashion shows.

The textile and apparel industry is deeply intertwined in today's global economy, serving as a vital component of international trade, a crucial setting for global partnerships, and an important link for cultural exchange. Dongguan's Vice Mayor, Xing Wenju, remarked that hosting the World Fashion Conference again in Humen is both an honor and a point of pride. It presents a significant opportunity for the upgrade of Dongguan's clothing industry and further advancements toward achieving "Trendy Dongguan."

Reflecting on 2023, the World Fashion Conference successfully elevated Dongguan's reputation in the apparel industry, resulting in substantial growth. Among Dongguan's 12,000 textile and apparel manufacturing enterprises, 1,200 registered companies achieved an industrial output value exceeding 90 billion yuan, marking a nearly 10% year-on-year increase.

This year, Dongguan's economy is running steadily, with the clothing and footwear sector contributing significantly to growth. The conference is expected to inject new vitality into Dongguan's apparel industry. During the conference, multiple activities and project signings will be announced, leveraging the platform to support the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of related industries in Dongguan.
