On May 19, the Shenzhen International Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2024 concluded. According to data released by the organizing committee, the main venue of this year's expo recorded an intended transaction amount of 6.1 billion yuan, with 81,532 visitors and an on-site transaction amount of 85.03 million yuan.

Additionally, at the Yantian sub-venue, Dabaihui Industry Group signed strategic cooperation agreements focusing on modern marine fisheries with CSSC Shipping Company Limited and Yantian Urban Investment Group, totaling 4 billion yuan.
This year's Shenzhen Fisheries Expo covered an exhibition area of 45,000 square meters, featuring three major sections and 12 exhibition zones, with nearly 500 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions, bringing a total of 12,000 aquatic products, attracting deep participation from the entire fisheries industry chain.

During the expo, Shenzhen Chuanyuan Shun Catering Management Service Co., LTD. promoted bluefin tuna from Spain to Shenzhen residents at very affordable prices, selling a total of 15 fish and achieving sales close to 1 million yuan. The booth hosted daily fish-cutting shows and a prize contest for guessing parts of the tuna, attracting 100-200 participants for each event. The company's revenue increased by 20%-30% compared to usual days, and they gained a large number of loyal bluefin tuna fans and related business partners.
Chuan Yuanshun started as a seafood wholesaler, primarily serving the B2B market. "We hope to establish a presence in the consumer market through the Shenzhen Fisheries Expo," said Chairman Fang Zechuan. The company is currently undergoing a business transformation, utilizing online live streaming, sashimi platter takeout, and at-home sashimi preparation to bring tuna into Shenzhen households.

New Retail International Supply Chain Management (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., a supplier of fresh seafood, signed two framework agreements at the expo. One agreement targets the end consumer market, supplying Antarctic Patagonian toothfish to high-end supermarket Olé. The other agreement focuses on sourcing, partnering with a Hainan enterprise to expand seafood supply channels.
Shenzhen Yierkang Agricultural Development Co., LTD, which specializes in aquaculture, primary processing, and distribution, covering the entire industry chain, brought sea bass, golden pompano, and organic reservoir fish to the expo, all of which sold out on-site. According to project manager You Zhiqiang, Yierkang's intended transaction amount increased by over 50% during the expo, exceeding 300 million yuan.

Currently, Shenzhen supports high-quality aquatic products entering campuses and encourages fisheries companies to provide primary and secondary school students with quality seafood snacks once a week. Shenzhen Hisealink Food Trading Co., Ltd. observed the potential market opportunity and brought in pure wild cod products imported from Russia, which were quickly snapped up by citizens as soon as they were displayed at the booth.
Moreover, the newly established Guangming District sub-venue of the Shenzhen Fisheries Expo hosted a three-night seafood barbecue carnival, integrating Lingnan lion dance, intangible cultural heritage of iron fireworks show, mermaid shows, concerts, and multiple interactive activities. The Guangming sub-venue saw an estimated total footfall of about 50,000 people during the event, a tenfold increase from usual, driving consumption to 670,000 yuan.

The organizing committee's representatives stated that the 2025 Shenzhen Fisheries Expo is scheduled to be held from May 16 to 18, 2025, with a planned exhibition area of 45,000 square meters.
