As of 3 p.m. on May 5th, Huanggang and Futian ports in Shenzhen handled over 900,000 inbound and outbound passengers during the May Day holiday period.
Data revealed that from May 1st to 4th, a total of 807,000 entries and exits were recorded, with Futian Port handling 633,000 inbound and outbound passengers, marking a 51% increase compared to last year. Additionally, the number of outbound and inbound vehicles reached 37,000.
By 3 p.m. on May 5th, Huanggang and Futian Ports saw a total of 97,000 inbound and outbound travelers in a single day, with Futian Port processing over 67,000 passengers.
During this year's May Day holiday, Shenzhen and Hong Kong have jointly launched a series of performances, events, and discount promotions. Hong Kong has also hosted a maritime fireworks show and several star-studded concerts. Consequently, there has been a continuous surge in outbound travel by residents from the Chinese mainland and visits to the Pearl River Delta region by residents of Hong Kong and Macao. This has led to a bustling flow of passengers through the ports of Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Huanggang Port, operating 24 hours a day, witnessed the largest number of passengers, and the Futian Port, which boasts convenient transportation connections, attracting numerous domestic and international travelers.
