HK launches Youth Development Center to integrate HK Youth into GBA

In a bid to further enhance cooperation and exchange between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) launched a new youth development center. The launching ceremony of Qianhai Hong Kong Youth Development Center was held at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub on March 28.

The center, jointly planned by the HKFYG and the Qianhai Authority, would be the first permanent service window established by the HKFYG in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It aimed to provide diversified services, supporting Hong Kong youth in their living, studying, working, and starting businesses in the Chinese mainland cities of the GBA. The center also would serve as a one-stop information and exchange platform.

The center will provide three main services. Firstly, the talent development service aims to support Hong Kong youth in employment and entrepreneurship in the GBA mainland cities, as well as fostering youth leadership and volunteer training. Secondly, organizing exchange groups to promote interactions between the youth from both sides. Thirdly, assisting in the integrated development of volunteer services in both regions.

The HKFYG also plans to introduce additional professional services, including employment support, leadership and volunteer training, to deepen the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong and facilitate the integration of Hong Kong youth into the national development.
The launch of the Qianhai Hong Kong Youth Development Center represents a significant step forward in strengthening the ties between Hong Kong and the mainland, particularly in the context of the Greater Bay Area's development. By providing a comprehensive range of services, the center aims to create a supportive environment for Hong Kong youth to fully engage in and contribute to the region's vibrant economy and cultural landscape.
