Recently, the second Training Camp: Explanation Session on the Technology Enterprises Certification Program and Intellectual Property in Macao was held in Hengqin to further help sci-tech enterprises on the Chinese mainland to better understand the business environment of Macao and expand their businesses there.
Representatives from the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao SAR government were invited to share the details of the certification standards and items in the Technology Enterprise Certification Programme, as well as relevant contents about intellectual property rights in Macao.
In terms of enhancing enterprises' awareness of intellectual property protection, representatives from the Patent and Copyright Division of the Bureau also gave lectures on Macao’s intellectual property system, basic knowledge of intellectual property rights and relevant laws.
Representatives from the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin introduced the soon-to-be-released intellectual property protection support policies. From the perspective of patent licensing rewards, patent and trademark awards, companies are encouraged to actively engage in R&D and innovation, so as to contribute to the building of an intellectual property protection highland in Macao and Hengqin.
Business representatives said they gained a better understanding of Macao's science and technology policy and business environment through this training session. And those from Macao also said that such activities can expand their friendship and seek some business opportunities.
Last year, the Macao SAR government launched a package of policy measures to create a sound business environment for sci-tech development, including the Technology Enterprise Certification Programme.
Since the special customs operation from March 1, Hengqin has been accelerating the integrated development with Macao.
