Five integrated circuit companies settle in the Guangdong-Macao Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Industrial Park, Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin on March 13. According to on-site reports from authority, the cooperation zone has issued the first subsidy this year to promote the development of the IC industry, with a total amount of nearly 200 million yuan, benefiting more than 20 companies.

It is the first batch of companies to settle in the Guangdong-Macao Industrial Park after the cooperation zone started special customs operations. So far, the park has signed contracts with more than 60 companies in the IC industry.

"The cooperation zone has a unique geographical advantage in undertaking the transformation of Macao's innovative achievements," said Yang Shiheng, founder of Aoshixin Technology, one of the newly-signed companies. He believes that settling in the cooperation zone can attract more young talents in Macao. "It will be more convenient for young people to find jobs and live in the cooperation zone after its special customs operations," he added.

Wu Jia, founder of Unisemipower Inc., is also looking forward to the company's development in the cooperation zone. He said that they will settle the headquarter in the cooperation zone soon. In the next three years, Unisemipower Inc. is expected to become the first chip company to be listed in the cooperation zone.

According to the statistics, the revenue of IC enterprises in the cooperation zone reached nearly 2.9 billion yuan in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. The Guangdong-Macao Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park is the cooperation zone's first industrial park specializing in the IC industry, and its output value reached about 1.4 billion yuan in 2023.
