On February 5th, amidst the bustling scene at Luohu Port, Mr. Wang, a long-time resident of Hong Kong, stood in a queue in the entry inspection hall with his wife and daughter, carrying luggage filled with Chinese New Year gifts for relatives. "My daughter is over two years old, but she hasn't met her grandparents yet," said Mr. Wang. With hopes of a joyful reunion, they crossed the boundary through the special lane of China Immigration Inspection quickly.

Since the reopening of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong boundary checkpoints on February 6th, 2023, such joy and excitement could be seen between the ports over the past year. According to statistics, the Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection has inspected a total of 184 million passengers in the past year, which is 72% of the same period in 2019.

Furthermore, to ensure a smooth and rapid flow of people and goods at the ports, the Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection has optimized the "Internet Plus Government Services" initiative and quickly completed the technical research and development tasks for the expedited customs clearance filing extension for "Home Return Permits" (referring to the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents), benefiting 3.12 million residents of HKSAR and Macao SAR.

As the Chinese New Year approaches, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong ports are once again facing a peak in passenger flows. The Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection has required affiliated institutions to ensure smooth, safe, and orderly customs clearance.
