Professional medical team aims to promote medical services in Hengqin

To promote the development of the national-level regional medical center and to connect with other advanced hospitals both at home and abroad, "Professor He Jianxing's Team Workshop on Thoracic Tumors and Lung Transplantation" was officially launched on January 25 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University Hengqin Hospital.

The projects that Professor He's team is in charge of are all national key clinical specialties. The team has established a comprehensive platform for operations, training, research and education. It covers early-stage lung cancer screening and diagnosis, integrated cancer treatment for individual minimal invasive, risk evaluation after surgery, and comprehensive lung transplantation treatment for terminal lung diseases.

Professor He's team is capable of performing lung, heart, liver and kidney transplants, making them one of the few teams in the country that can carry out combined heart and lung transplants. The team also serves as a training base for doctors specializing in lung transplantation. To date, the team has successfully completed nearly 700 lung transplantation cases and over 20 combined heart and lung transplants, ranking second and first nationally respectively.

He Jianxing, the director of the National Center for Respiratory Medicine and the academic leader in Thoracic Surgery, Oncology, and Organ Transplant at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, stated that he plans to bring better technology and excellent medical services to the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin after the establishment of the workshop. He also intends to fully leverage the relevant policies of the zone to work and promote his team's medical level to be in line with those of advanced international hospitals.
