Final of Hengqin international sci-tech competition kicks off in Macao today

The organizing committee of the third Hengqin International Scientific and Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition announced the list of finalists on January 24. A total of twenty-one projects were selected to compete in the finals in Macao on January 25.

This year, the competition has introduced the New Green Lotus Award for the first time for enterprises from Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries. The establishment of this award will fully leverage Macao's role as an international window to connect with Portuguese-speaking countries, mobilize their scientific and technological innovation resources, and promote further collaboration between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in innovation, entrepreneurship, and scientific and technological cooperation.

On January 24, nearly 80 enterprises who participated in the semifinals were also invited to visit Hengqin in four different groups: integrated circuit and electronic components, big data and artificial intelligence, biomedical and medical equipment, as well as new materials and new energy. They visited a series of sites such as the planning exhibition hall of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Innovation and Development Co., Ltd., and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao.

After the visit, some enterprises in the integrated circuit and electronic components group said that they not only witnessed the supporting facilities and equipment provided by Hengqin for its industrial development, but also gained a deeper insight into the policy advantages of the zone, highlighting its great support for entrepreneurs and high-level talents.
