Hengqin issues guide to support cultural and tourism industries

On January 16, the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin issued a guide on the supporting policies for the development of the cultural and tourism industry.

On August 23, 2023, the cooperation zone released related supporting policies to promote the development of the local cultural and tourism industry. According to the policies, funds will be injected into five main areas, including supporting new brands, stimulating the market, promoting cooperation between Hengqin and Macao, creating new trade forms, and improving the industrial chain.

The recently released guide is based on the aforementioned supporting policies, with 15 specific fund-supporting policies covering various areas, such as the creation of tourism enterprise brands, the development of characteristic souvenirs, nighttime economy, excellent travel routes, Macao cultural and tourism brand, and the practice of Hong Kong and Macao tour guides, among others. The application process will start from January 22 to March 31, 2024.

According to the guide, the declaration process includes the following six steps: application, preliminary examination, verification, review, announcement, and fund allocation. Additionally, the zone's Economic Development Bureau will organize a teach-in meeting on January 22 to help related organizations and personnel better understand the guide.
