Guangdong top officials inspect Hengqin

On January 10, Huang Kunming, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and Wang Weizhong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Provincial Governor, visited the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin for an inspection tour. 

The inspection included Hengqin Port, the "Macao New Neighborhood" project, scientific and technological research institutions, businesses, government services, etc.

At Hengqin Port, Huang Kunming emphasized the importance of streamlined factors flow, improved port planning, and efficient customs processes. For the "Macau New Neighborhood," he encouraged a focus on education, healthcare, and community services. He also talked with members of research institutions to stress innovation and collaboration. Later, in a discussion with representatives of young talents from Macao who have started businesses in Hengqin, he sought young talent's opinions on developing Hengqin and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

During the inspection, Huang Kunming stressed promoting technology, developing industries, and creating an international business environment in Macao. He urged swift integration with the mainland, ensuring efficient goods circulation and entry/exit processes. These steps aim to seamlessly align Macao with the national development.

This year marks the 3rd anniversary of the establishment of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.
