Recently, the Baotang energy storage station was officially put into operation in Foshan city, Guangdong province.

With an installed capacity of 300 megawatts, Baotang energy storage station is the largest facility of its kind in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It is also the largest grid-side independent energy storage station built at one time in China, directly increasing the total amount of energy storage in transit in Guangdong by about 20 percent.

The station covers approximately 3.8 hectares of land, which is equivalent to 5.5 soccer fields. It consists of 88 lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage systems arranged in seven areas, including the battery management system, energy storage converter, and energy management system.

The station stores energy from renewable sources like wind and solar power, and supplies the stored green energy to households during peak hours.

It is estimated that the Baotang energy storage station can produce 430 million kilowatts of green electricity, meet the electricity needs of 200,000 residents, and reduce 300,000 tons of carbon emissions annually in the GBA.
