It has been eight years since the China-Europe freight train service started operating in Guangzhou. Currently, there are 14 import and export train routes with Guangzhou International Port as the starting point or destination. They connect China to more than 40 cities in over 20 countries and regions in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, West Asia, Central Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia, providing a stable international logistics channel for over 3,000 foreign trade enterprises.

With the continuous optimization of the import and export cargo structure, the Guangzhou Customs District strives to provide policy guidance and customs clearance instructions based on the new forms of foreign trade. It has successively launched several customized routes for domestic new energy automotive parts, local home appliances, and communication equipment, in order to promote the export of these high value-added goods. To ensure the smooth export of goods during the New Year holiday, the Guangzhou Customs at the railway station provides appointment services for the China-Europe freight train, with a dedicated window set up for real-time customs clearance service for the trains.

Data shows that in 2023, the Guangzhou Customs at the railway station supervised a total of 599 import and export trains and around 55,000 shipping containers at Guangzhou International Port, marking a year-on-year increase of 83.18% and 91.93%, respectively.
