On that day, the signing ceremony of the Shaxi Intelligent Computing Center project will also be held at the data center. With a computing power of 100P, the computing center integrates intelligent computing and general computing. It will mainly serve the research, development, and application of large models in the Guangzhou AI and digital economy experimental zone and the whole GBA.

By then, the computing center will accelerate the intelligent process in various aspects, such as industrial development, urban governance, and public services, as well as promote the digitalization level of various fields, including smart healthcare, intelligent transportation, intelligent connected autonomous driving, internet services, and the Internet of Things.

China Telecom, as the investor of the computing center, is known as "China's national team member of cloud computing." Shaxi Intelligent Computing Center is China Telecom's first regional intelligent computing center in the GBA.

Currently, Haizhu District focuses on the three pillars of the artificial intelligence industry: algorithms, computing power, and data. The number of leading internet companies in the district ranks first among the top 100 districts in China. This year, four chip design companies have been settled in Haizhu, making it a hub for developing the integrated circuit industry in Guangzhou.

According to the White Paper on China's Computing Power Development Index (2022) released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China's computing power industry maintains high-speed growth. Specifically, the proportion of artificial intelligence computing power exceeds 25 percent, and the annual compound growth rate of its scale is expected to reach around 50 percent in the future. Various regions in the country are actively establishing intelligent computing centers and model development training platforms with ultra-high computing speed and powerful data processing capabilities.
