The 2023 Cross-border E-commerce Conference kicked off in Guangzhou's Huangpu District on December 5. Guests from both China and abroad, including representatives from foreign embassies and consulates in China, as well as experts and delegates from major cross-border enterprises such as Huawei, Amazon and Alibaba, were invited to the event.

According to Cai Hui, Deputy Secretary General of the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality, the city's foreign trade in cross-border e-commerce has increased by 93 times over the past eight years. Additionally, Guangzhou has ranked first nationwide in import volume for nine consecutive years. Cai also mentioned that Guangzhou has plans to build the world's first comprehensive landmark for the cross-border e-commerce industry. This landmark will provide related enterprises with one-stop access to global resources in this field.

The event also included three sub-forums focusing on themes such as cross-border e-commerce development along the Maritime Silk Road and the cultivation of talent for cross-border e-commerce in RCEP countries. Guests shared insights based on their own experiences. Meanwhile, a research report on industrial products in cross-border e-commerce was also unveiled at the conference, providing better guidance for the development of this industry.

A representative from the Ministry of Commerce, Kingdom of Cambodia, pointed out that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Kingdom of Cambodia. In the future, Cambodia looks forward to expanding bilateral economic and trade exchanges with China by deepening cooperation in the field of cross-border e-commerce.

Moreover, the conference also unveiled Guangzhou's 35 representative cross-border e-commerce brands, spanning various fields such as manufacturing, services, and logistics.
