On November 30, Guangdong Hengqin Zhenxipin Pharmacy Co., Ltd., the first fully Macao-owned pharmacy in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, officially opened for business. Two pharmacists from Macao will provide Macao-styled pharmaceutical services to the Macao residents living in the cooperation zone.

Yau Yun Wah, Deputy Director of the Commercial Services Bureau of the cooperation zone, presented the registration certificates to the two pharmacists at the store, allowing them to provide pharmaceutical services from that day on.

Chen Zijun, a Macao pharmacist, spoke highly of the convenient registration process. Applicants can complete all registration procedures on the drug safety and social governance website, including pre-employment training, assessments, and registration applications, without leaving home in Macao.

"Pharmacists from Macao are more familiar with the drug-using habits of Macao residents and the pharmaceutical service model in Macao. We hope to take this opportunity to promote the exchange and learning between the pharmacists from both regions, in order to further integrate the traditional Chinese medicine cultures of Hengqin and Macao," said Huang Yin, legal representative of Guangdong Hengqin Zhenxipin Pharmacy Co., Ltd.

So far, a total of 43 Macao residents have registered accounts and completed pre-employment training on the mentioned website. Among them, two have finished the registration process and obtained the qualifications to operate a business in the cooperation zone.

Going forward, the Commercial Services Bureau will continue to promote the alignment of drug safety governance regulations between Hengqin and Macao, aiming to better meet the medication needs of Macao residents in the cooperation zone, facilitate their lives and work, and contribute to the construction of an innovative and dynamic demonstration zone.
