On September 4, over 300 experts from 10 countries, including BRICS countries - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, gathered in Guangdong’s Shenzhen to discuss the future networks innovation.

Themed “networks innovation for high-quality development,” the 2023 BRICS Forum on Future Networks innovation provided a platform for BRICS countries and countries interested in potential collaborations with BRICS to explore cooperation in digital transformation, next-generation mobile communication, artificial intelligence, industrial internet and blockchain.

China has been promoting the development of its cyber power, achieving a significant improvement in network infrastructure, and making remarkable progress in technological innovation.

Zhang Yunming, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered a speech at the forum, indicating that China is willing to deepen cooperation in information communication with BRICS countries and other countries under the BRICS Plus model.

The forum has been held in Shenzhen for five consecutive years, highlighting the city’s performance in the networking and communication industry. Having forged a relatively complete industrial supply chain, Shenzhen witnessed its added value of new generation electronic information industry over 581 billion RMB, becoming the first city with full coverage of 5G independent networking worldwide.
