On June 27, the Macau New Neighborhood Project was officially unveiled in Hengqin. The project has entered the final acceptance stage and is expected to be completed in August of this year.

As the first comprehensive livelihood project jointly undertaken by Guangdong and Macao, the project will provide high-quality living spaces for Macao residents in the Guangdong-Macao In-Dpeth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. The project covers an area of over 190,000 square meters, with a total construction area of approximately 620,000 square meters. Its facilities include schools, health stations, elderly service centers, and integrated family service centers, all of which are highly aligned with Macao's public service system.

According to the plan, the project will provide about 4,000 flats and over 200 talent apartments. These will primarily be two and three-bedroom units. The project also includes over 4,000 parking spaces, a clubhouse area of over 2,500 square meters, and over 3,000 square meters of children's playgrounds and sports facilities.
Additionally, a 5,000-square-meter commercial area has been reserved to provide spaces for around 60 shops. The project began accepting applications for shop leases in May, and priority has been given to SMEs and brands from Macao.
"The unveiling of the Macau New Neighborhood not only signifies the progress of the Cooperation Zone construction but also demonstrates the cooperation and innovative development between Guangdong and Macao," said Lei Wai Nong, Director of the Executive Committee of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. In the future, the Cooperation Zone will continue to support Macao residents in terms of living and employment and promote facility connectivity and people-to-people exchanges. These efforts will help more Macao residents to integrate into the Greater Bay Area development.
The housing prices in the Macau New Neighborhood will be around 30,000 RMB per square meter on average. This pricing level may vary based on the room orientation and floor level. If the number of applicants exceeds the available units, a lottery system will be implemented. Eligible home buyers must be aged 18 or above, hold a Macao resident identity card, own not more than one residential unit for living purposes in Macao, and possess no residential properties in Zhuhai.
