Covering a total area of about 453,000 square meters, the Station sits in the south of Baiyun District. With all regular trains from Guangzhou Railway Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station arriving here, it is expected to become one of Asia’s largest transit-oriented development (TOD) hubs.
Railways, including Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway, will set up a station here. With six subway lines underground and bus stations nearby, passengers can enter the Station within two minutes.
A total of 118,000 tons of steel were used in the steel structure of the station building, which is composed of three parts: the roof, the petal-shaped columns and the beams.
Baiyun Station is the first railway project in China that has put robots into trial and large-scale use during the entire construction process. Eighteen kinds of intelligent robots were tried out, serving as a vivid case for the application of digital and AI technologies in the construction industry.
The Guangzhou Baiyun Station is to be completed at the end of 2023, aiming to upgrade the passengers’ travel experience, promote the building of “GBA on Rail”, and further boost the socioeconomic development of the GBA.
