A marine pasture project, with an annual production value of about 2 billion RMB, has recently been located in Jiangmen's Taishan, a coastal city in Guangdong province.

The signing ceremony of the project was held last Friday (June 10). According to local government, the project is expected to have a total investment of 400 million RMB, with an annual production capacity of 17,500 tons.

The project is invested and constructed by Guangzhou Taihong Aquatic Technology Co., Ltd. The company adheres to a modern development idea and aims to build an all-area water ecological pasture.

Taishan has a sea area of 2,717 square kilometers and has rich resources of islands, harbors, tidal flats, tourism, fisheries, and ocean energy. The city's aquaculture area is 318 square kilometers, and it has the largest eel breeding and export base in Asia. "Taishan eel", "Taishan rice", "Taishan oyster" and "Taishan blue crab" have obtained the National Geographical Indication of Agricultural Products. In 2019, the total output value of Taishan's fishery economy had reached 12.4 billion RMB.

Taishan plans to upgrade its fisheries, with efforts going to deep processing, fishing and coastal tourism, as well as fishing equipment.
