With a total length of nearly 400 meters and a deck covering an area nearly the size of four football fields, the vessel's maximum container capacity reaches more than 24,000 TEU (20-foot equivalent unit), with a total load capacity of more than 220,000 tons. It left YICT on January 6 for Singapore to Europe.

Last year, YICT witnessed the maiden voyages of 28 container ships with a load capacity of about 24,000 TEU, the largest size in the world. Meanwhile, it also welcomed a total of nearly 300 super-large container ships to berth in the port. Almost all the super-large-sized vessels berthing in South China chose YICT as their destination port.

With 20 deep-water container berths, YICT works to fulfill the efficient entry and exit of super-large ships. It also provides adequate berths for import-and-export-oriented enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) to further promote the high-quality development of regional foreign trade.

"Many liner companies have designated YICT as the last port of call for their European and American routes out of China. Choosing YICT as the preferred port for cross-border e-commerce in South China enables cargoes to be shipped to the destination port in the shortest time," said Pang Ning, deputy general manager of the Commerce Department of Hutchison Ports Yantian.

At present, to boost Shenzhen's marine economy, Yantian District is striving to support Shenzhen in establishing a logistics center with global influence to further boost the city's marine economy.
