With the final shakedown now well underway,Guangzhou Metro Line 18 and Line 22 are going to be the fastest underground in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with top speeds of 160 km/h.

And the new lines, besides being fast, are also equipped with better-designed metro stations. The curved white ceilings tinged with azure, dynamic structures of the space, all appear to breathe a futuristic air.

Line 18 stretches 61.3 km from Wanqingsha, Nansha District, to Guangzhou East Railway Station, with 9 stations in between. It functions as an express line that connects Nansha District with downtown Guangzhou. While Line 22, as an additional link from Guangzhou South Railway Station, travels 30.8 km from Panyu Square to Fangcun.

The two lines are designed to connect four traffic hubs - Wanqingsha, Guangzhou South Railway Station, Guangzhou East Railway Station, and Bai E Tan, and meanwhile reduce the travel time between Nansha center and downtown Guangzhou to 30 minutes.

Aimed at showcasing a fresh, modern image of Guangzhou Metro, the metro stations of the lines have adopted brand new designs, in which diverse elements complement each other and make for a sense of wholeness.

In the station, hanging installations are nowhere to be seen. Instead, the halls are filled with embedded guides and clocks that blend into the environment, embodying minimalism in all its details.

The two lines both feature greyish, metallic look, adorned with distinctive theme colors - Line 18 azure, Line 22 sun orange, which vividly symbolize the steady and vigorous development of the areas they extend through.
