On October 7, Guangdong issued a notice on COVID-19 prevention and control during the 130th China Import and Export Fair (the Canton Fair). From October 8 to October 20, Guangdong's epidemic response will be strengthened. The requirements are as follows.

1. Individuals with Canton Fair credentials should receive nucleic acid tests in Guangdong. All testing points should provide priority services for them.

2. Inbound travelers heading towards Guangzhou should receive centralized quarantine for 21 days.

3. Between October 14 and 20, the inbound travelers who head for other provinces and have completed 14-day centralized quarantine in Guangdong should not leave through Guangzhou’s transportation stations in principle. When it’s necessary, they should choose the exclusive access in Baiyun International Airport or Guangzhou South Railway Station.

4. Those with a travel history to medium- and high-risk areas within the past 14 days should hold a negative COVID-19 test result within 48 hours, and report to their village (residence) management authorities, working units or hotels within 12 hours after arrival in Guangdong.

5. For individuals returning to Guangdong from domestic medium- and high-risk areas, and from the areas with local cases of unknown origins, isolation of 14 days is required.

6. All cinemas, game rooms, chess and card rooms, Internet cafes, supermarkets, agri-food markets and other confined, public-gathering places across Guangdong should strengthen foot-traffic management, ventilation and disinfection. All visitors should follow health management measures including health codes check, temperature measurement, and wearing masks.

Commencing October 21, Guangdong will resume the previous quarantine policy.
