ABB E-mobility’s China headquarters settles down in Shenzhen’s Nanshan

On August 9, ABB E-Mobility Technology Shenzhen Co., Ltd inaugurated its head office at the Xili Lake International Science and Education City, an innovative hub in Nanshan District, Shenzhen.

At the opening ceremony, the company launched its first ABB 480 kW liquid-cooled supercharger designed for the Chinese market and commissioned in the science and education city. It was developed by the Chinese team in Shenzhen. The vehicle has a maximum output of 480 kW, a peak output current of 650A, and the ability to deliver 200km of range in 5 minutes.

Huang Xiangyue, deputy secretary of the CPC Nanshan District Committee and district mayor of Nanshan District People's Government, indicated that Nanshan's cooperation with ABB demonstrated that Nanshan will open wider to the world and achieve win-win results. 

"As the National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone and the Innovation Practice Base, Nanshan District adheres to the tenet of technological innovation," said Huang, "Nanshan will continue to create a favorable environment and provide quality services to enable domestic and foreign enterprises to achieve better development."

Frank Mühlon, CEO of ABB E-mobility, said that Shenzhen's high-quality resources and environment have created a great opportunity for ABB to expand its e-mobility market in the city. "In the future, ABB E-Mobility will continue to increase investment in Shenzhen and China, creating a greener, smarter, and more sustainable transportation sector through close cooperation with local enterprises."

James Zhao, senior vice president of ABB China Ltd added, "To achieve carbon neutrality, ABB will continually accelerate the development of breakthrough technologies in Shenzhen for the benefit of Shenzhen, China and the world."

ABB Group has been listed on Global Fortune 500 for many years, and ABB E-Mobility China headquarters is one of the projects negotiated with Nanshan during the 2021 Shenzhen Global Investment Promotion Conference. In recent years, Nanshan has attracted 22 Global 500 companies to invest in the district, such as Metro AG and Philips.
