The under-construction Zhongshan Bridge, which is part of the 24-kilometer cross-sea link connecting the cities of Shenzhen and Zhongshan. The bridge’s east main tower was topped off Tuesday, marking the completion of all the four main towers on the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and the start of the construction work on the project’s over-sea section. The link, which is expected to play an essential role in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, will open to traffic in 2024. It will cut travel time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan from two hours to 30 minutes.
