Four cross-border cooperative projects were initiated at the 2021 Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation Conference, which was held in Shenzhen on Monday.

The four projects are the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Joint Office of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, the Qianhai Electronic One-stop Service Station for Hong Kong and Macao, the CUHK-Shenzhen School of Medicine, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center Exchange and Cooperation Platform.

The joint office has been put into use at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Science and Technology Park in the Shenzhen portion of the science and technology zone. Staffers of the preparatory team for the Hong Kong portion of the zone have started work.

The joint office’s operation marked a new stage of the cooperation zone’s synergic development under the arrangement of “one zone, two parks,” Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

The electronic one-stop service station initiated by Qianhai Authority will offer free business registration, tax-related businesses and administrative service for Hong Kong and Macao businesspeople in Qianhai.

The CUHK-Shenzhen School of Medicine was put into use earlier this month and will enroll 6,000 students to its full capacity.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center will be expanded based on the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). So far, six Hong Kong and Macao institutions have confirmed to settle in the international arbitration center’s exchange and cooperation platform. With the support of the Shenzhen and HKSAR governments, Hong Kong agencies including eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Center Ltd., SCIA (HK) and Des Voeux Chambers signed agreements Monday to move in.
