Multi-ride and periodical ticket launched for Guangdong intercity railways

Multi-ride ticket and periodical tickets have been launched from August 18 for some of Guangdong’s intercity railways, including the Guangzhou-Shenzhen train, Guangzhou-Zhuhai train, and Zhuhai-Baiyun Airport train, revealed by Guangzhou Railway Group.

Discounts are set for different tickets. For 20-trip tickets, there is a 5% discount. For 30-day periodical tickets, the discount will be 30% if passengers complete 60 journeys, and 18% with 50 trips.

The new tickets are to promote the integration of cities located in the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Passengers will only have to bring their ID cards to take the train without buying tickets every time.

What are multi-ride ticket and periodical tickets?

With multi-ride tickets, passengers can ride the train with designated departure and arrival stations a certain number of times. The periodical ticket allows passengers to travel on trains with designated departure and destination a limited number of times. Ticket buyers can also choose the category of seats.

How to use 20-times ticket and 30-day periodical tickets?

20-times ticket for Guangzhou-Shenzhen train:

Passengers can ride the train 20 times within 90 days with fixed departure and arrival stations chosen among Guangzhou (Guangzhou East Railway Station), Dongguan, Changping (常平), Zhangmutou (樟木头), Pinghu (平湖), and Shenzhen.

20-times ticket for Guangzhou-Zhuhai or Zhuhai-Baiyun Airport train:

Passengers can ride the train 20 times within 90 days with fixed departure and arrival stations chosen among Guangzhou South Railway Station, Beijiao (北滘), Shunde, Shundexueyuan (顺德学院), Ronggui (容桂), Nantou (南头), Xiaolan (小榄), Zhongshanbei (中山北), Zhongshan, Nanlang (南朗), Zhuhaibei (珠海北), Tangjiawan (唐家湾), Mingzhu (明珠), Zhuhai, Guzhen (古镇), Jiangmendong (江门东), Xinhui (新会), Wanzaibei (湾仔北), Shizimen (十字门), Hengqinbei (横琴北), Hengqin (横琴), and Zhuhai Changlong (珠海长隆).

30-day periodical ticket for Guangzhou-Shenzhen train:

Passengers can ride the train 60 times at most in 30 days with fixed departure and arrival stations chosen among Guangzhou (Guangzhou East Railway Station), Dongguan, Changping (常平), Zhangmutou (樟木头), Pinghu (平湖), and Shenzhen.

30-day periodical ticket for Guangzhou-Zhuhai or Zhuhai-Baiyun Airport train:

Passengers can ride the train 60 times at most in 30 days with fixed departure and arrival stations chosen among Guangzhou South Railway Station, Beijiao (北滘), Shunde, Shundexueyuan (顺德学院), Ronggui (容桂), Nantou (南头), Xiaolan (小榄), Zhongshanbei (中山北), Zhongshan, Nanlang (南朗), Zhuhaibei (珠海北), Tangjiawan (唐家湾), Mingzhu (明珠), Zhuhai, Guzhen (古镇), Jiangmendong (江门东), Xinhui (新会), Wanzaibei (湾仔北), Shizimen (十字门), Hengqinbei (横琴北), Hengqin (横琴), and Zhuhai Changlong (珠海长隆).

As for 30-day periodical tickets, Guangzhou-Shenzhen passengers can book first-class or second-class seats, while Guangzhou-Zhuhai and Zhuhai-Baiyun Airport passengers will be limited to second-class seats.

How to buy 20-times ticket and 30-day periodical ticket?

Only 12306 users that have passed the identity and phone number verification can buy the tickets. The tickets can be bought on 12306 website (www.12306.cn) or through the APP. Users can buy tickets for themselves or other passengers registered in their accounts (all should pass the verification). Every passenger is allowed to buy no more than two tickets of the same departure and arrival stations.

Ticket (seat) appointment:Passengers can book tickets and seats on 12306 website or APP or ticket vendors in advance. After that, passengers can ride the train with their ID cards.

Tap and go:When there are seats left on the train, passengers can enter the station by simply tapping the ID card.

Tips for 20-times ticket and 30-day periodical ticket buyers

1. 30-day periodical ticket buyers can book no more than 10 tickets (seats).

2. 20-times ticket buyers can book no more than 4 tickets (seats).

3. Passengers can cancel reservation at no charge before the train departs, otherwise it will be recorded as a ride.

4. If a passenger cancels reservation 5 times 48 hours before the train’s departure, he/she will only be able to book 1 ticket (seat) afterwards.
